It mentions that approximately 7000 people a day purchase tickets for the game who ultimately do not show. The problem with this is that these people are not paying for consessions and parking and so do not do any of the high profit sales that help drive a team. So that is particularly bad when the phantom attendance numbers are being used to drive a publicly funded stadium. Well who knows, but I have a feeling there wouldn't be this problem if they moved the team down in Durham or Las Vegas. I mean these areas are screaming a need for baseball and sometimes AAA affiliates just won't cut it. However, I don't have an inside track for baseball and don't live in the areas so maybe I shouldn't poke my nose where I don't belong. I'll just leave you with that, but make sure if you like baseball to check out his stadium section. Absolutely fantastic and a lot of fun. -Trevor Filed Under: Absolutely Pathetic @ 12:52 am by Hemeac |
